Can someone please give me the part # for the front disk brakes. Got a set of Brakplus DB39P's and they are not right. I got a part number from Ferodo's that is FDB122 but not sure if that is right either.

Cheers in advance
Joe

You don't mention exactly what you're looking for, sounds like pads, from the mention of Ferodo? Depends on the make, when I was looking for new pads for mine I was told that they're no longer made (surely someone still makes them somewhere?). At worst, it'd be possible to bond new friction material to the existing backing plates.

Rolling Eyes Sorry bout that. Yes I am after the brake pads for an eb1 civic 1976. I would hesitate to bond the friction material to an old backing plate just because of the heat and pressure they are obviously put against. Locktite might be alright?
Would redrilling the pads iv got now so the pins can go through be too risky? They are a smaller pad, but only by a few mm.

Cheers,
Joe

If the steel backing plate isn't the right shape, you'd better be a brake expert before you try to use them. The consequences of getting this wrong can be very messy, and involve wrecked calipers, rotors, and the rest of the car too I guess! Loctite would definitely not work either I'm afraid. Bonding new friction material to the backing plates needs to be done by a professional brake shop; in Auckland I can recommend Race Brakes (surprisingly good prices...!) and Sterlings. Former is in town, the latter is in Onehunga.

Have you guys tried Repco? I know they have the eb1, eb2, and eb3 listed funnily under the computer system. The bottom line is that they have two different kinds of pads for the ebs. I'm not sure which number matches your eb1. But they should have the pads. We got some for our '74 Eb1, 76 1500 and 79 Eb3 through them. Just buy both kinds. Thats what I normally do. They aren't normally expensive.

Anyway let me know how you get on. There shouldn't be any need for any fancy or expensive bonding. Drop me a line if you cant find them. I'll get some from my local store.

Oh and BTW Joe those wheels looked really good!! Nice to see another eb out driving in our area. Theres another one that lives in Howick too now. A cream eb3.

Cheers
Matthew

Thanks Matthew, the next thing on the list is to get some decent (but cheap) lowering springs (Stocks quoted me $150 a corner for kings).

I'll try Repco today or tomorrow and see what they have. if not ill drop you a line.

Cheers,
Joe
